Last updated: June 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how fileme("fileme", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use fileme.in and our associated Chrome browser extension.
1. Information we collect
- Account data — name, email address, and authentication details (including via Google sign-in/OAuth, if used).
- Document & Content data — documents, files, metadata (such as names, sizes, and file types) that you upload to our platform. If you connect your Google Drive, we collect and store authorization tokens to access your Drive files directly, but we do not copy or store your Google Drive files on our servers.
- Extension data — client-side information processed by our Chrome extension to assist you in selecting, resizing, downloading, or uploading documents into forms on third-party websites. We do not transmit or store the content of the websites you visit or the forms you fill on our servers.
- Payment data — subscription and billing details. Card/banking information is collected and processed directly by our payment partner, Razorpay; we do not store your full card details.
- Usage data — log data, device/browser information, extension activity logs, and cookies used to operate and improve the Service.
2. How we use your information
- to provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including the Chrome extension and Google Drive integration;
- to enable document storage, management, resizing, and uploading;
- to process subscriptions and payments;
- to communicate service updates, security alerts, and support responses;
- to detect, prevent, and address fraud, security breaches, or abuse;
- to comply with legal obligations.
3. Google API Disclosure & Drive Privacy
Our Service integrates with Google Drive to store and manage your documents with a higher degree of privacy.
Requested Scopes: During the Google OAuth authentication process, we request access to the following scopes:
email&profile— to authenticate your identity and link your account.https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata(Application Data Folder) — to store, retrieve, update, and delete configuration files and user documents within a secure, dedicated application folder in your Google Drive. This restricted scope ensures our application has access only to its own folder and cannot read, write, view, or modify any other files in your personal Google Drive.
Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance:
Our app's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically, we do not use your Google API data to display advertisements, target marketing campaigns, or build user profiles. We do not sell or lease this data. Any transfer of this data to third-party tools or hosting providers is done strictly for the purpose of providing or improving the Service (e.g., rendering your documents in your browser) and is subject to strict confidentiality agreements.
4. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal or document data. We share data only with service providers who help us operate the Service — such as Razorpay (payments), cloud hosting and storage providers, and email delivery providers — strictly to perform services on our behalf.
Third-Party Websites: When you use our Chrome extension to insert or upload your documents into third-party forms or websites, you are directly transmitting your information to those websites. We are not responsible for how those third parties handle your data; their own privacy policies govern your interactions with them.
5. Data security & retention
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your documents and data. Documents uploaded directly to our cloud storage are stored securely. We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can disconnect your Google Drive integration, delete specific documents, or request full account and data deletion at any time by contacting us.
6. Your rights
You may access, correct, or delete your personal information and documents, and withdraw Google Drive permissions at any time. We will respond to privacy requests within a reasonable time.
